Products Description of Dichloromethane CAS#75-09-2
Dichloromethane is a compound formed by replacing two hydrogen atoms in the methane molecule with chlorine, with the molecular formula CH2Cl2. It is a colorless, transparent, heavier than water, volatile liquid with an ether-like odor and sweetness. It does not burn, but forms an explosive mixture when mixed with high concentrations of oxygen. Dichloromethane is slightly soluble in water and miscible with most commonly used organic solvents. It can also be miscible with other chlorinated solvents, ether, ethanol and N, N-dimethylformamide in any proportion.

Product Application of Dichloromethane CAS#75-09-2
Dichloromethane has the advantages of strong solubility and low toxicity. It is widely used in the manufacture of safe film and polycarbonate. The rest is used as coating solvent, metal degreasing agent, aerosol spray, polyurethane foaming agent, mold release agent, paint stripping agent.
Dichloromethane is a colorless liquid. It is used as a reaction medium in the pharmaceutical industry to prepare ampicillin, hydroxybenzyl penicillin and cephalosporin. It is also used as a solvent in film production, petroleum dewaxing solvent, aerosol propellant, organic synthesis extractant, foaming agent for polyurethane and other foam plastics production, and metal cleaning agent.
