Products Description of Chloramphenicol CAS#56-75-7
Chloramphenicol, also known as chloramphenicol, is a broad-spectrum antibiotic produced by Streptomyces chlorinus that has the effect of inhibiting bacterial growth. Natural chloramphenicol is the L-isomer (also known as levomycin). Synthetic products are white or slightly yellow needle-shaped or flaky crystals, odorless, extremely bitter, slightly soluble in water, ether and chloroform, easily soluble in methanol, alcohol, acetone or ethyl acetate, insoluble in benzene and petroleum ether. It is relatively stable in neutral or weakly acidic aqueous solutions and easily loses its effectiveness when exposed to alkali. Synthetic products are racemic, also known as chloramphenicol. Chloramphenicol is a mixture of the L-isomer and the D-isomer of chloramphenicol. Because the D-isomer has no antibacterial effect, the efficacy of chloramphenicol is only half of that of the natural product.

Product Application of Chloramphenicol CAS#56-75-7
It is a broad-spectrum antibacterial antibiotic, the first choice for the treatment of typhoid and paratyphoid, one of the specific drugs for the treatment of anaerobic infections, and secondly for the treatment of various infectious diseases caused by sensitive microorganisms. Due to serious adverse reactions, it is now used less and less. The antibacterial spectrum, effects and uses are the same as chloramphenicol. It is used to treat infections caused by Salmonella typhi, Shigella dysenteriae, Escherichia coli, Salmonella influenzae, Brucella, Pneumococcus, etc., antibiotic anti-infective raw materials
