Products Description of EpichlorohydrinCAS#106-89-8
Epichlorohydrin is an intermediate for the synthesis of glycerol, and is also the main raw material for epoxy resins, nitroglycerin explosives, fiberglass, and electrical insulation products. It is also used as a mixture of cellulose esters, resins, and cellulose ethers. It is also a raw material for the production of surfactants, medicines, pesticides, coatings, adhesives, ion exchange resins, plasticizers, glycerol derivatives, glycidyl derivatives, and chlorohydrin rubber. Various types of epoxy resins made with epichlorohydrin and bisphenol A as the main raw materials have the characteristics of high adhesion, low shrinkage, chemical corrosion resistance, and good stability. They are widely used as coatings, adhesives, reinforcement materials, and casting materials. The chlorohydrin rubber produced with epichlorohydrin as the raw material is a new type of rubber. It is not easy to swell in general oils and common solvents, has greater flexibility at low temperatures without plasticizers, and has some unique functions that are superior to nitrile, chloroprene, and butyl rubbers.
