Nephestyl acetate, also known as hydroxybenzyl acetate, was initially used as a food preservative. After a series of research and exploration, it was introduced into cosmetics as a preservative. Nephestyl acetate has a strong antibacterial effect. Among them, Chemicalbook stands out for its outstanding antibacterial ability against molds and yeasts. However, it has a relatively poor effect on some bacteria (Gram-negative bacteria, lactic acid bacteria), so it is often used in combination with other preservatives in cosmetics.
