Products Description of Sodium 4-aminosalicylate dihydrate CAS#6018-19-5

Sodium p-aminosalicylate is a commonly used anti-tuberculosis drug, also known as sodium p-aminosalicylate, sodium 4-amino-2-hydroxybenzoate dihydrate, PAS-Na. It is a white or off-white crystalline powder, odorless, sweet and salty, easily soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, difficult to dissolve in acetone, and almost insoluble in ether, chloroform, and benzene. Product Application of Sodium 4-aminosalicylate dihydrate CAS#6018-19-5

It is suitable for pulmonary and extrapulmonary tuberculosis caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Sodium para-aminosalicylate is only effective against mycobacteria, but not against non-tuberculous mycobacteria. It can quickly develop drug resistance when used alone, so it must be used in combination with other anti-tuberculosis drugs. When streptomycin and isoniazid are used in combination with it, they can delay the development of drug resistance of Mycobacterium tuberculosis to the former two. It is mainly used as a second-line anti-tuberculosis drug. It can also be used for hyperthyroidism, and is more suitable for patients with hyperthyroidism and tuberculosis. When iodine is ineffective and affects surgery, it can be taken for a short period of time to create conditions for surgery. Intravenous drip of injection is generally used for severe cases such as tuberculous meningitis.
