Hydroxyethyl methyl cellulose (HEMC) industrial product purity ≥ 99%, white to off-white powder, odorless and tasteless. Melting point stable below 80℃, boiling point decomposes. Vapor pressure negligible (25℃), relative density 1.27 (20℃). Solubility in water: soluble in cold water, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in hot water. Stable, viscosity decreases in high salt, incompatible with strong acids and bases for long-term contact.
