Hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) industrial product purity ≥ 99%, white to off-white powder, odorless and tasteless, hygroscopic. Melting point 260℃ (decomp), boiling point decomposes on heating. Vapor pressure negligible (25℃), relative density 1.35 (20℃). Solubility in water: soluble in cold water, insoluble in ethanol and ether, insoluble in hot water. Stable, viscosity stable in pH 2-12, incompatible with strong oxidizing agents and heavy metal salts.
