Products Description of ALLURA RED AC CAS#25956-17-6

Allura Red is a dark red uniform powder, odorless. Soluble in water, soluble in glycerin and propylene glycol, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in oils and fats. Soluble in water to form a slightly yellowish red solution. Strong light and heat resistance, poor alkali resistance and oxidation-reduction resistance. Similar properties to other diazo red pigments. Good tolerance to aqueous solutions containing sulfur dioxide or hydrogen ions (pH ≥ 3). Strong color fastness. Soluble in water, neutral and acidic aqueous solutions are red, and alkaline solutions are dark red.

The study found increased levels of hyperactivity and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and low er IQs were observed in children consuming the chemicals.
