Products Description of Acetaminophen CAS#103-90-2
The chemical name of acetaminophen is N-(4-hydroxyphenyl)acetamide, and its trade name is paracetamol, which belongs to the acetanilide antipyretic analgesic. It was first synthesized by Morse in 1878 and first used clinically by Von Mering in 1893. It became an over-the-counter drug in the United States in 1955, and my country began to produce it at the end of the Chemicalbook in the 1950s. It appears as white crystals or crystalline powder, with a melting point of 168-172°C, odorless, slightly bitter, easily soluble in hot water or ethanol, soluble in acetone, and almost insoluble in cold water and petroleum ether. It is stable below 45°C, but if exposed to humid air, it will hydrolyze into para-aminophenol, and then further oxidize, and the color will gradually turn pink, brown, and finally black, so it should be stored in a cool and dry place.
