Products Description of Sodium persulfateCAS#7775-27-1
Sodium persulfate is also called sodium peroxydisulfate. White crystals or crystalline powder. Odorless. Tasteless. Molecular formula Na2S2O8, relative molecular mass 238.13. It gradually decomposes at room temperature, and can decompose rapidly when heated or in ethanol. After decomposition, oxygen is released and sodium pyrosulfate is generated. Moisture and metal ions such as platinum black, silver, lead, iron, copper, magnesium, nickel, manganese, or their alloys can promote decomposition. High temperature (about 200℃) decomposes rapidly and releases hydrogen peroxide. It is easily soluble in water (70.4 at 20℃). It is highly oxidizing. It is highly irritating to the skin. Long-term contact with the skin can cause allergies. Be careful when operating. Rat oral LD50895mg/kg. Store in a sealed container. Sodium persulfate is obtained in the laboratory by heating ammonium persulfate with caustic soda or sodium carbonate solution to remove ammonia and carbon dioxide.
