Calcium chloride industrial product purity ≥ 99%, white hard fragments or granular solid, odorless, highly hygroscopic. Melting point 772℃ (lit.), boiling point 1600℃ (decomposes). Vapor pressure negligible (25℃), relative density 2.15 (20℃). Solubility in water: highly soluble (74.5 g/100mL at 20℃), soluble in ethanol and acetone, insoluble in ether. Stable, incompatible with fluorides and strong oxidizing agents.
